In her youth, she was a Finnish national gymnast and dance enthusiast. In 1964-1967, Pyhähuhta worked as an evening actress at the Varkaus Theatre, in 1968-1978 as an actress at the Hyvinkää Theatre and in 1978-1979 as an evening actress at the Finnish National Theatre.
Pyhähuhta joined the Mikkeli Theatre in 1979. In the 1980s, Pyhähuhta also became interested in directing theatre and founded her own company name. In 2013-2014, it was time for a farewell play at the Mikkeli Theatre, and Pyhähuhta retired.
Pyhähuhta has led various theatre projects in the South Savo region. The Irtonaiset group, which emerged from a production she directed, and the Juvan High School Theatre are active in Juva. Pyhähuhta has received several awards in recognition of her work.

“Theatre is a sport to the greatest extent: it is a team game, like ice hockey or baseball, with theatre tools as the playing medium. A performance is teamwork, where personal contribution serves the common good. In each performance, one stretches one’s own skills to the limits. A director is a coach whose job is to make a good team. Don’t go below where the fence is lowest. Let’s go over!”
Pyhähuhta worked at the Mikkeli Theatre for over three decades, fax database part of which he was on leave. For these achievements, she was award the South Savo Arts Council’s Art Prize in 2010. In 2013, she was voted South Savo Resident of the Year. The latest work seen in Pyhähuhta Juva is a play by the theatre group Virtapiiri, directed by her, in which caregivers performed in the spring of 2017.
