You probably know these little dream killers – “you won’t succeed anyway”, “you’ve tried so many times”, “you can’t do it..”… These are all little mental stimulants that come from our lack of faith in our own strengths. So what? We need to regain this faith. The small steps method is great for this.

Three years ago I quit ca proposal to a client  smoking. A feat all the more incredible because I was a terrible smoker – a smoker of the worst kind, who smoked whenever he could. I smoked in the morning, I smoked in the evening; before and after dinner, in a pub, at university, at work, at my desk. I smoked everywhere and whenever I could. Smoking was as natural to me as breathing is to you.

However, I am not so a trend to integrate now  confident in everything. For example, when it comes to standard weight loss (diet), my confidence is practically zero – I have approached this topic so many times and failed so many times that half a year ago, taking another attempt in this area made me feel sick with stress – because I knew how it would end anyway.

That’s why I started drinking vegetable juices (the kind in cartons). And what’s more – I drink them every day. I know it’s not the same as eating vegetables in every dish – but I think it’s a pretty good start.

To strengthen the habit of eating vegetables, I made a bet with a colleague from work that if I broke down, I would have to donate 50 PLN to a certain radio station that I really don’t like. Of course, I could choose a noble organization, but… if I “broke down” and didn’t drink the juice, wouldn’t I still feel pretty good about donating those 50 PLN? And yes, I feel doubly motivated to stick to my resolution – because on the one hand I don’t want to lose 50 PLN, and on the other I don’t want to donate it to an organization I don’t like.
