Additional sources of negative keywords

Additional sources Another way to identify negative keywords is to analyze your competitors’ ads. Let’s say you sell kitchen corners. One of the queries you plan to advertise is “buy corner”. Enter it in the search:

For this query, the ads are a complete mess: the first positions are occupied by ads from construction materials stores that offer to buy metal pipes, reinforcement, channels, etc. Thus, we immediately collect minus words: “reinforcement”, “pipe”, “channel”, “finishing materials” + variations.

Scroll down the page to the very bottom and see the phrases-associations – here too there is something to profit from in terms of minus words. We add to the list “metal”, “aluminum”, “wooden”, popular sizes, etc.

Yandex Wordstat allows you to analyze

User queries even better and supplement the list of minus phrases. Just enter a query and see with what intent users entered the phrase “buy a corner”.

Negative keywords at the campaign level

To add negative keywords at the campaign level, click on the “-” icon in the table header:

In the window that opens, enter negative words (no more than 20 thousand characters).

There are two syntax options:

A comma is placed after the negative word or liechtenstein number negative phrase.

After saving the changes, the system will remove the commas and place the “-” operators next to each word/phrase:

Before each negative word or negative phrase, put the “-” sign without a space. Between individual words and phrases, a space is required.
